Conserve Heritage
Create Heritage
Celebrate Heritage

Efforts to reimagine the Bond Memorial Library began more than ten years ago, led by a community of volunteers and generous donors. We will open the restored facility in the Winter of 2024. Stay tuned for more information regarding our Grand Opening.

The Kohala Heritage Center will create exhibits that celebrate Kohala's history from the many eras and cultures that have lived in Kohala. An archive repository space is being developed to help conserve community heritage items. The center will also have a media production space to assist with documenting oral histories and other storytelling in our community.

As our non-profit settles into its new home, we need the support of our community near and far to complete its heritage center vision. There are many ways to become involved and support the Kohala Heritage Center now and in the future. Come and join us in our work to conserve, create, and celebrate Kohala's Heritage.

Newly Restored Space for Community

As you approach our restored historic building, you step through the refurbished French doors and into the heart of a building newly conceived for heritage programs. Here, in collaboration with our development and media teams, we present many opportunities to engage with the stories of North Kohala.

Our collaborators hope to offer seasonal exhibits that cover all of the facets of history in the area. North Kohala is famous for its rich heritage, and today, Kohala’s heritage is evident in the number of places that have been restored and preserved for future generations.
